About the founder

Dr. Matthew Kirkman

Dr. Kirkman has over 25 years of combined experience as a board-certified neurosurgeon, writer, scientist, consultant, and regulatory professional. He also has several years of experience as an Editorial Board Member of a leading journal, and many more years experience as a peer reviewer for a number of prestigious scientific journals. Dr. Kirkman was also appointed to design and deliver a multi-module online course about scientific publishing and communication for one of the largest governments in the world.

In addition to his clinical and scientific expertise, Dr. Kirkman also has extensive experience in the medical device regulation and quality assurance industries. He has also been a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he advised some of the world’s largest and most prestigious organizations.

Academically accomplished, Dr. Kirkman holds master’s degrees from the University of Oxford and Imperial College London, and a PhD in neuro-oncology and genetics from University College London (UCL). He has personally led the design, approval, conduct, analysis, and publication/dissemination of many clinical and scientific research studies over a time period spanning more than 20 years. Dr. Kirkman has also authored many academic book chapters and over 80 research publications that have been cited more than 3 000 times. With an outstanding attention to detail, he has perfected over 1 000 articles from individuals and organizations across the world by providing editing and writing support.

Dr. Kirkman is inspired by the opportunity to combine his skills and knowledge to serve the wider scientific community in the pursuit of academic excellence. Having enjoyed many years immersed in high-level academic research, he fully understands the challenges that scholars can face throughout the entire scientific research journey, from initial research concept through to publication and beyond.
